How we write and check our guides
Who writes the Secret Santa Hotline guides, where their facts come from, how they are checked before and after they go live, and how to tell us about a mistake.
Secret Santa Hotline's guides are published by Cooli, a small software studio in California that makes Secret Santa Hotline. The Secret Santa Hotline team is responsible for every guide.
Where the facts come from
We start from what people really search for and ask AI assistants. The facts come from official and primary sources first (governments, the organisations themselves), then well-known references. Every guide lists its sources at the end.
How a guide is checked
Drafts are written with help from AI, and nothing goes live unchecked. Before a guide is published, a separate checker reads it for anything said about Secret Santa Hotline that its own facts do not support, for any figure, date or rule no source supports, and for spam. A guide that fails waits for a rewrite. Each guide is also read for whether it really answers the searches it was written for, and a guide below our bar is rewritten.
Keeping it current
The facts in every guide are checked again against current sources at least every 90 days. The page shows when it was last updated and when its facts were last checked.
What we never do
We never take payment to mention anyone, and we never make up reviews, quotes or numbers. Secret Santa Hotline comes up only where it genuinely helps the reader.
